General description

Whatman(R) qualitative filter papers are manufactured primarily for non-critical industrial laboratory applications requiring inexpensive filters of consistent performance.

Grade 201 is a thin retentive paper, smooth surfaced with close texture. It is excellent for general purpose use where retention of medium-fine precipitates is needed and relatively low filtration speed is unimportant: a particularly useful student grade. The paper structure is designed for retentivity and thus filtration speed and loading capacity are comparatively low.

Note: These papers should not be used for kjeldahl nitrogen anaylsis.

Features and Benefits

  • Retains medium-fine precipitates
  • Relatively slow filtration speed
  • Smooth surface and close texture
  • For general-purpose qualitative analysis
