Application

Pentaethylene glycol di(p-toluenesulfonate) was used in the preparation of 3′-formylbenzo-18-crown-6 by undergoing coupling reaction with 2,3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde. It was also used to prepare calix[4]arenes, calix[5]arenes and crown ethers.
