General description
FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (Flt3l), a cytokine, is also termed as Flk2/CD135. It is a hematopoietic growth factor. Recombinant murine Flt3-ligand is a soluble 18.6 kDa protein consisting of 163 amino acid residues.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Flt3l (FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand) acts as a stimulant of hematopoietic progenitor cell proliferation. It facilitates the commitment of lymphoid lineage, and aids in dendritic cell (DC) development. It is involved in myoblast differentiation, and drives skeletal muscle regeneration. It acts on p120RasGAP (rat sarcoma GTPase activating protein) and suppresses Erk (extracellular signal-regulated kinase) signaling, which in turn promotes myogenesis. In lymphoid tissues, it modulates DC homeostasis, which is facilitated by steady state as well as proliferative T-cells. Recombinant murine Flt3-Ligand is a soluble 18.6 kDa protein consisting of 163 amino acid residues.
Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3) ligand (FL), expressed by leukemic cells may help to increase the multiplication through an autocrine process.

Physical form
Lyophilized from 10 mM Sodium Phosphate, pH 7.8.
Reconstitution
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex. This solution can be stored at 2-8°C for up to 1 week. For extended storage, it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.

The cytokine Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (FL) is an important regulator of hematopoiesis. Its receptor, Flt3, is expressed on myeloid, lymphoid and dendritic cell progenitors and is considered an important growth and differentiation factor for several hematopoietic lineages. Activating

Various cues initiate multiple signaling pathways to regulate the highly coordinated process of skeletal myogenesis. Myoblast differentiation comprises a series of ordered events starting with cell cycle withdrawal and ending with myocyte fusion, with each step probably controlled by multiple

Lymphoid-tissue dendritic cells (DCs) are short-lived and need to be continuously replenished from bone marrow-derived DC progenitor cells. Fms-related tyrosine kinase 3 is expressed during cellular development from hematopoietic progenitors to lymphoid-tissue DCs. Fms-related tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (Flt3L) is

The flk2 receptor tyrosine kinase has been implicated in hematopoietic development. Mice deficient in flk2 were generated. Mutants developed into healthy adults with normal mature hematopoietic populations. However, they possessed specific deficiencies in primitive B lymphoid progenitors. Bone marrow transplantation
