Centhaquin is a centrally acting hypotensive agent. Centhaquin is an effective resuscitative agent that improves cardiac output, reduces blood lactate levels, and improves survival time of hemorrhaged rats. Centhaquin exhibits antinociception in the mouse mediated through the opioid, the α2A and α2B adrenoceptors.
