General description
Psilocybin is a natural psychoactive compound that belongs to the class of tryptamine alkaloids. It is one of the main hallucinogenic compounds of widely known “magic mushrooms”― Psilocybe, Panaeolus, and Conocybe. Known by street names such as shrooms, boomers, or musk, psilocybin has effects similar to LSD and DMT.
Application
- Simultaneous quantitative analysis of psilocybin, γ-hydroxybutyric acid, and ibotenic acid in human saliva samples using capillary electrophoresis (CE) along with a capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detector (C4D)
- Development of an ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometric (UHPLC–MS/MS) method to quantify psilocybin and psilocin in samples of seized hallucinogenic mushrooms and hair obtained from accused users
- Multi-residue analysis of psilocybin, mescaline, N,N-dimethyltryptamine, psilocin, and salvinorin A in human hair samples using ultra-high-pressure liquid chromatography (UHPLC) combined with tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS)
- Measurement of 11 multi-class illicit drugs in human urine and plasma samples by their micro-solid phase extraction (μSPE) followed by analysis by liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS)
Features and Benefits
- Fully characterized under ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034 accreditation
- Accompanied with a comprehensive Certificate of Analysis (CoA) with data on stability, homogeneity, accuracy of concentration, uncertainty, and traceability
- Rigorously tested through real-time stability studies to ensure accuracy and shelf life
- Gravimetrically prepared using qualified precision balances to ensure minimal uncertainty
- Flame sealed under argon into ampoules for long-term shelf life
- Offered in a convenient, DEA-exempt format to improve laboratory efficiency
