General description

NanoFabTx PLGA-micro for synthesis of 10-30 μm particle reagent kit is a formulation kit that includes the reagents, stabilizers, and protocol to synthesize poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) microparticles 10-30 μm in size. This reagent kit can be used with the NanoFabTx Microfluidic - micro device kit (Cat.No. 911879).

Application

This NanoFabTx reagent kit is designed for the synthesis of 10-30 μm PLGA microparticles to encapsulate a wide variety of therapeutic drug molecules for targeted drug delivery. By following the protocol, the user can synthesize drug-encapsulating microspheres 10 μm in size, 30 μm in size, or any size in between. With our step-by-step instructions, the user can identify the ideal microparticle size and drug loading for their research application without the need for lengthy trial-and-error optimization. PLGA microparticles are an excellent drug delivery system for controlled drug release because microparticles offer better encapsulation efficiency including higher drug loading capacity and lower excipient loads than nanoparticles. PLGA is a biocompatible and biodegradable polymer and compatible with many different types of therapeutic molecules and is the most widely used synthetic polymer in precision oncology. PLGA is approved by the FDA for biomedical and pharmaceutical applications such as oncology and immuno-oncology.

Features and Benefits

  • Step-by-step protocols developed and tested by our formulation scientists
  • Flexible synthesis tool to create uniform and reproducible microparticles with low polydispersity
  • Based on non-toxic, biodegradable polymers
  • Enables microparticle formulation screening and optimization to select ideal particle size for enhanced drug loading and controlled release
