General description

Interleukin-1 type 1 receptor (IL1R1) is a glycoprotein. It is mainly expressed on endothelial cells, epithelial cells, hepatocytes, fibroblasts, epidermal dendritic cells as well as T lymphocytes.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Interleukin-1 (IL-1), a cytokine, is a key regulator of acute and chronic inflammation. The IL-1 associated responses are achieved by association of IL-1 with IL-1 type 1 receptor (IL1R1).
Recombinant human IL-1 soluble receptor I is a transmembrane protein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed predominantly by T cells, fibroblasts, and endothelial cells.

Physical form

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 5.0 mg bovine serum albumin

Analysis Note

The bioactivity is measured by its ability to inhibit the IL-1β-dependent proliferation of a murine helper T cell line, D10.G4.1.

The biological activity of the multifunctional cytokine interleukin-1 (IL-1) is mediated by its receptors. The aim of this study was to determine if an association exists between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the IL-1 type 1 and 2 receptor genes
