Cell Line Origin

Adipose cell line, mouse subcutaneous, mesenchymal, multipotent

Cell Line Description

m17.ASC is a spontaneously immortalized multipotent mesenchymal cell line capable of acquiring adipocyte, chondrocyte, osteocyte and cardiomyocyte phenotypes when cultured with appropriate differentiation factors. m17.ASC provides a valuable tool for in vitro biomimetic studies; assessing growth technologies such as 3-D structures, biochemical cues (selected growth factors and hormones) and physical forces (electrical, mechanical and topographical). It can be used to screen compounds that induce or inhibit proliferation and/or differentiation in tissue specific phenotypes.
