Application

Trifluoroethylene (TrFE) can be used as a monomer unit for the preparation of fluoropolymer (poly(trifluoroethylene)), which finds application in microelectronics, protective/anti-adhesive coatings, chemical industry and Li-ion batteries. TrFE is also used to synthesize copolymer composites with vinylidene difluoride for various applications.
It can also be used to prepare:
  • Pentafluoroethane by reacting with xenon difluoride.
  • Lithium (trifluorovinyl)trimethoxy borate by treating with trimethyl borate and n-BuLi.
  • 2,2,3-Trifluorooxirane.

A reflection non-contact ultrasonic microscope system working both in amplitude and phase difference modes at 2 MHz has been developed using an air-coupled concave transducer made of piezoelectric polymer films of poly(vinylidene fluoride/trifluoroethylene) [P(VDF/TrFE)]. The transducer is composed of three

The aim of this work was to evaluate the biocompatibility of poly(vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene)/barium titanate (P(VDF-TrFE)/BT) membrane to be used in guided tissue regeneration (GTR). Fibroblasts from human periodontal ligament (hPDLF) and keratinocytes (SCC9) were plated on P(VDF-TrFE)/BT and polytetrafluorethylene membranes
