General description

Anti-Keratin 17 antibody detects endogenous levels of total Keratin 17 protein.
Keratin 17/cytokeratin 17 (CK17) is a basal/myoepithelial cell keratin. It is expressed in the respiratory tract, urinary tract and various glands. CK17 is a member of the acidic type I CK family. It is mapped to human chromosome 17q21.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Keratin 17.

Immunogen Range: 381-430

Application

Anti-Keratin 17, C-Terminal antibody has been used in immunohistochemical staining.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Keratin 17/cytokeratin 17 (CK17) plays a major role in the development of various human malignancies. It acts as a biomarker in endocervical glandular neoplasia. CK17 is involved in the development of cell and sizing of keratinocytes.

Understanding the mechanisms by which cells sense and respond to injury is central to developing therapies to enhance tissue regeneration. Previously, we showed that pancreatic injury consisting of acinar cell damage+β-cell ablation led to islet cell transdifferentiation. Here, we report
