Gene Information

human ... POLD1(5424)

General description

Monoclonal Anti-DNA polymerase d p125 (rat IgG2a isotype) is derived from the hybridoma PDG 5G1 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells (P3X63Ag8.653) and splenocytes from rat immunized with human p125. The catalytic subunit p125 (POLD1), which is encoded by the Pold1 gene, is highly conserved among eukaryotes. Pold1 comprises of two primary functional domains: an exonuclease domain near the N-terminus and the subsequent polymerase domain.

Immunogen

human p125

Application

Monoclonal Anti-DNA polymerase δ p125 antibody produced in rat has been used in:
  • immunoblotting
  • immunoprecipitation
  • immunocytochemistry
  • co-immunoprecipitation

Biochem/physiol Actions

The exonuclease domain of the catalytic subunit p125 (POLD1) has the ability to catalyze 3′−5′ exonucleolytic proofreading and the polymerase domain helps to catalyze DNA synthesis. Mutations in this subunit have been implicated in mammalian embryogenesis and tumorigenesis.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01M phosphate buffered saline pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Human DNA polymerase delta (Polδ), a holoenzyme consisting of p125, p50, p68, and p12 subunits, plays an essential role in DNA replication, repair, and recombination. Herein, using multiple physicochemical and cellular approaches, we found that the p12 protein forms a
