Application

Na2SiO3.9H2O can be used to prepare honeycomb porous silicon (hp-Si). Sodium metasilicate nonahydrate combined with cobalt chloride (CoCl2. 6H2O) may be used to prepare Co3O4 nanoparticles. The product may be used to impart flame retardant and antimicrobial properties in jute textiles.
