General description

Perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) are semiconducting materials with high luminescent efficiency. They have a low threshold, tuneable wavelength and ultra-stable stimulated emission (SE). These semiconductors are a class of hybrid inorganic and organic metal halide based perovskite materials. They have a direct bandgap which can be useful for a variety of optoelectronic devices.

Application

PQDs can be used in the fabrication of light emitting diodes (LEDs) and PQD based solar cells.
Perovskite quantum dots (QDs) have the common formula ABX3 where A is Cs or FA (formamidinium), X is Cl, Br or I. They possess high photoluminescence efficiency and narrow emission and emit in the visible spectral regime. Perovskite QDs are cadmium free and the aforementioned properties render them suitable for applications in light emitting diodes (LEDs), lasers, liquid crystal displays (LCDs) etc.
