Tris Buffered Saline, or TBS, pH 7.6 is a commonly used wash buffer that is isotonic and non-toxic and ideal for use in cell culture and electrophoresis applications.
Application
Tris-buffered saline can be used as a wash buffer for:
- Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
- Western Blot and other protein applications
- Suitable for use in cell culture (recommend to sterile filter)
- Immunohistochemistry
- Sample preparation
- Resuspension and sonication of cells

Reconstitution
Contents of one pouch, when dissolved in 500 mL of ultrapure water, will yield a 1x solution containing 50 mM Tris, 138 mM NaCl, 2.7 mM KCl, pH 7.6 at 25 °C. Contents tested to be DNAse, RNAse, Protease, and Nickase free. This product is suitable for use in cell culture applications.
Storage and Stability
Store at room temperature. Product may naturally agglomerate but can be simply broken up within the pouch prior to use.
