Gene Information

human ... CDX2(1045)

General description

Homeobox protein CDX-2 (UniProt Q99626; also known as Caudal-type homeobox protein 2, Caudal type homeobox transcription factor 2, CDX-3) is encoded by the CDX2 (also known as CDX3, CDX2/AS) gene (Gene ID 1045) in human. CDX-2 is a transcription factor that plays an important role during embryonic development, where it determines intestinal identity in the presumptive gut endoderm. CDX-2 is also required for maintenance of intestinal identity in the intestinal epithelium throughout adulthood. Mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK) are reported to modulate CDX2 transcriptional activity and half-life via phosphorylation. Reduction of CDX2 expression facilitates tumor progression in murine models of colorectal cancer (CRC) and decreased CDX2 expression level in CRC correlates with poor prognosis in human.

Immunogen

Epitope: Internal
GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to human Homeobox protein CDX-2.

Application

Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected Homeobox protein CDX-2 in human colon and human colorectal cancer tissue.

This Anti-Homeobox protein CDX-2 Antibody, clone 7D9.1 is validated for use in Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) for the detection of Homeobox protein CDX-2.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in human colorectal adenocarcinoma DLD-1 cell lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: 1.0 µg/mL of this antibody detected Homeobox protein CDX-2 in 10 µg of human colorectal adenocarcinoma DLD-1 cell lysate.

Target description

~35/39 kDa observed. Target band often appears as a doublet due to posttranslational modifications (phosphorylations & polyubiquitinations).
