General description

Singlepath® E. coli is a rapid diagnostic test, designed to detect E. coli bacteria in various food and environmental samples. The Singlepath® E. coli is an immunochromatographic rapid test based on gold-labeled antibodies to detect the presence of a specific antigen, in this case, the E. coli bacteria. This lateral flow test is based on the immune flow principle and is a convenient and simple-to-use, one-step device. The test includes a nitrocellulose membrane strip that is coated with antibodies specific to E. coli antigens. When the sample is applied to the test strip, any E. coli antigens present will bind to the antibodies on the strip, resulting in the development of a visible test line. The test takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, and the results are interpreted based on the presence or absence of the test line. The detection limit can be regarded as less than one colony-forming unit of E. coli O157 (including H7) in a 25 g food sample, depending on the serogroup. No additional equipment expenditure is needed.

Application

SINGLEPATH® E. coli O157 is used for pathogen detection in industrial microbiology. This kit is designed for testing food and environmental samples. The test is intended to be used in food-analyzing laboratories for the presumptive qualitative detection of E. coli O157 (including H7) from a variety of foods. The test has been validated and approved for use in raw ground beef and pasteurized whole milk.
