General description

Voriconazole, sold under the trade name Vfend®, is a triazole antifungal drug prescribed for treatment of serious, invasive fungal infections. This certified Snap-N-Spike® Solution is suitable as starting material for linearity standards, calibrators, or controls for therapeutic drug monitoring or clinical and diagnostic testing of voriconazole in patient blood, serum, or plasma samples by HPLC or LC-MS/MS.

Application

  • Solubilization and antifungal activity enhancement: Research highlighted a synthetic citric crosslinked beta-cyclodextrin derivative designed to improve the solubilization and antifungal effectiveness of voriconazole. The study demonstrated enhanced solubility and reduced cytotoxicity, broadening its potential applications in antifungal drug formulation (Soe et al., 2023).

  • Rapid quantitative plasma detection: A study developed a method using surface-enhanced Raman scattering to rapidly and quantitatively detect voriconazole in human plasma. This technique supports its use in pharmacokinetic and metabolism research, providing a rapid assessment tool for therapeutic monitoring (Liu et al
