General description

Methylephedrine, a sympathomimetic amine and a bronchodilator, is a component of several over-the-counter cough medications such as "BRON." Methylephedrine occasionally used in athletics as a performance enhancing drug for its stimulant effect. This Certified Snap-N-Spike® Solution is applicable for use as starting material in calibrators or controls for a variety of LC/MS or GC/MS applications from sports testing and urine drug testing to forensic analysis and clinical toxicology.

Biomedical chromatography : BMC, 23(11), 1138-1144 (2009-06-06)
A novel method for the determination of ephedra alkaloids (methylephedrine and pseudoephedrine) was developed by electrophoresis capillary (CE) separation and electrochemiluminesence detection (ECL). The use of ionic liquid (1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, BMIMBF(4)) improved the detection sensitivity markedly. The conditions for CE

The effect of cosurfactant identity on microemulsion size, elution range, retention factor, enantioselectivity, methylene selectivity, efficiency, and resolution in chiral microemulsion formulations was examined. The chiral surfactant dodecoxycarbonylvaline was used in conjunction with the cosurfactants 1-butanol, 1-pentanol, 2-pentanol, 1-hexanol, 2-hexanol

Dimethyl-beta-cyclodextrin (DM-beta-CD) modified capillary electrophoresis has been developed for chiral separation of ephedrine and related compounds, such as (+/-)-norephedrine, (+/-)-N-methylephedrine, (+/-)-ephedrine and (+)-pseudoephedrine. The influence of some crucial parameters such as buffer concentration, pH value, DM-beta-CD concentration, applied voltage and
