General description

Ethanolamine (Etn) is an amino alcohol. It contains both alcohol and amine functional group. Conformational studies of Etn have been reported. The decomposition of ethanolamine in aqueous medium by ozonization has been studied.

Application

Ethanolamine may be used as the following:
  • Plasticizer in the synthesis of ethanolamine plasticized thermoplastic starch (ETPS).
  • Hydroxyl radical scavenger.
  • Blocking agent during genosensor development.
