General description

Antimony(III) selenide (Sb2Se3) is a ribboned non-toxic and low-cost material with a band gap of ~1.1 eV. Its properties include switching effects, good photovoltaic and thermoelectric properties. It can be prepared in the form of thin films by a number of methods such as vacuum evaporation, solution growth, spray pyrolysis and direct fusion of antimony and selenium.
