General description

Capto L resin is designed for antibody fragment purification, when the fragment contains the kappa light chain.

Affinity resin for antibody fragment purification

Capto L combines a rigid, high-flow agarose matrix with the immunoglobulin-binding recombinant protein L ligand, which has a strong affinity to the variable region of antibody kappa light chains. The high binding capacity and affinity to a broad range of antibody fragments makes this resin an excellent capture platform for antibody fragments containing kappa light chains. Common uses include domain antibody (dAb), scFv, and Fab purification.

Using this protein L resin

Capto L resin requires minimal optimization and produces high purity in one separation step, resulting in significant savings during process development. This resin is also advantageous in manufacturing, because high selectivity of affinity capture reduces the number of subsequent polishing steps.

Application

Purification of antibody fragments using affinity chromatography

Features and Benefits

  • Suitable for the capture of a wide range of antibody fragments such as Fabs, dAbs, and single-chain fragment variable (scFv) .
  • High binding capacity, low ligand leakage, and selectivity for a broad range of antibody fragments reduces process time and amount of resin.
  • Enables a platform approach to antibody fragment purification.
  • Excellent productivity, process economy, and process design flexibility due to rigid matrix.
  • Hydrophilic base matrix ensures low levels of non-specific binding and low levels of host cell-derived impurities in the elution pool.
  • Fulfills industrial demands for security of supply, robust performance, and regulatory support.
