General description

Nucleosome-remodeling factor subunit SNF2L, also known as SWI/SNF-related matrix-associated actin-dependent regulator of chromatin subfamily A member 1 (SMARCA1), is the energy-transducing component of NURF (nucleosome-remodeling factor) and CERF (CECR2-containing-remodeling factor) complexes. These complexes facilitate the disruption of chromatin structure in an ATP-dependent manner. SNF2L potentiates neurite outgrowth, and may be involved in brain development by regulating En-1 and En-2 expression as well as in the development of luteal cells.

Immunogen

GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to human SNF2L.

Application

Detect the SNF2L protein using this Anti-SNF2L, clone SNF 2C4 validated for use in WB & IHC.

Western Blot Analysis: A representative lot was used by an an independent laboratory to detect SNF2L in untransfected HeLa whole cell extracts, but demonstrated a loss of signal in HeLa whole cell extracts transfected with siRNA. (Eckey, M., et al. (2012). Mol Cell Biol. 32(13):2359-2371).
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A representative lot was used by an an independent laboratory to detect SNF2L in certain, normal human organ tissues. (Eckey, M., et al. (2012). Mol Cell Biol. 32(13):2359-2371).

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot in HeLa cell lysate.

Western Blot Analysis: 1.0 µg/mL of this antibody detected SNF2L in 10 µg of HeLa cell lysate.

ISWI is an evolutionarily conserved ATPase that catalyzes nucleosome remodeling in different macromolecular complexes. Two mammalian ISWI orthologs, SNF2H and SNF2L, are thought to have specialized functions despite their high sequence similarity. To date, the function of SNF2L in human
