General description

Immobilon®-P transfer membrane is a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) microporous membrane with a nominal pore size of 0.45 micron (μm). It is recommended for western blotting, especially for proteins greater than 20 kDa. Immobilon®-P transfer membrane can bind a wide range of molecular weight proteins. It is used for the transfer of proteins from a variety of gel matrices. When compared to a nitrocellulose membrane, the Immobilon-P PVDF membrane has a higher signal-to-noise ratio for enhanced sensitivities, improved handling characteristics and staining capabilities and increased solvent resistance.
Primary Binding Mechanisms: Electrostatic, hydrophobic;
Filter Code: IPVH

Application

Immobilon®-P PVDF Membrane has been used in western blotting.

Features and Benefits

Immobilon®-P membrane has:
  • excellent protein retention
  • high physical strength
  • broad chemical compatibility
  • suitable for a variety of staining applications and reprobing in immunodetection methods
