Description

General description

Methanol-d₄ (CD₃OD) is a deuterated NMR solvent used for NMR-based research and analyses. It has the highest isotopic enrichment and will not interfere with the desired level of detection.
The absolute infrared absorption intensities of CD3OD have been reported between 8000 and 350cm^-1.

Application

Methanol-d₄ may be used as a removable internal standard to limit contamination during the quantification of lipophilic shellfish toxins using quantitative nuclear magnetic resonance technique (qNMR). The purity and ability of the lipophilic shellfish toxins to serve as authentic reference standards is also determined. It may also be used as a solvent in investigating the utility of matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry to monitor peptide and protein conformational changes of bradykinin, α-melanocyte stimulating hormone, and melittin.
