Informations sur le gène

human ... IFNAR2(3455)

Description générale

The protein encoded by this gene is a type I membrane protein that forms one of the two chains of a receptor for interferons alpha and beta. Binding and activation of the receptor stimulates Janus protein kinases, which in turn phosphorylate several proteins, including STAT1 and STAT2. Multiple transcript variants encoding at least two different isoforms have been found for this gene. (provided by RefSeq)

Immunogène

IFNAR2 (AAH02793.1, 1 a.a. ~ 331 a.a) full-length human protein.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

The IFN (interferon) response is a part of the first line defense system against infection, which requires the binding of IFNs to the receptors (IFNAR1 and IFNAR2) for its activation. IFNAR2 (interferon αand βreceptor subunit 2) is associated with the JAK-STAT (Janus - signal transducer and activator of transcription) signaling pathway.
