Description générale

The gene NPVF (neuropeptide VF precursor) is mapped to human chromosome 7p15. It is an orthologue of avian gonadotropin-inhibitory hormone. In human hypothalamus, the NPVF protein associates with receptor GPR147 (G-protein coupled receptor 147).

Application

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

In female rats, NPVF (neuropeptide VF precursor) decreases the secretion of luteinising hormone. In rats, application of NPVF increases food intake. It also plays a secondary role in controlling pubertal development.
