Description générale

CKLF (chemokine-like factor) like MARVEL transmembrane domain containing 4 (CMTM4) belongs to the CKLF like MARVEL transmembrane domain containing family (CMTM). The gene is located on human chromosome 16q21-q22.1. It is highly expressed in kidney, heart and brain.

Application

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

CKLF (chemokine-like factor) like MARVEL transmembrane domain containing 4 (CMTM4) functions as a regulator of cell cycle and division in HeLa cells. It acts as a tumor suppressor in clear cell renal cell carcinoma, when downregulated. The protein is involved in cell cycle growth. It regulates the protein programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1). It acts a target for microRNA-205 and enhances renal cell apoptosis.
