General description

Acrylamide (AA) is a neurotoxin and carcinogen. It was found in potato products like, french fries and potato chips and also in several cereal-based products. This highly reactive organic compound has the ability to polymerize to form polyacrylamide.

Application

Acrylamide/Bis-acrylamide has been used in the preparation of polyacrylamide (PA) gels. It has also been used as a component in the preparation of blotting gel precursor solution, separation gel precursor solution and loading gel precursor solution.
Ready to reconstitute dry powder blends are accurately pre-blended to produce a 40% (w/v) stock solution for use in protein and nucleic acid electrophoresis. The concentration is based on the total weight of both the acrylamide and bis-acrylamide.

Features and Benefits

Eliminates the need to weigh toxic acrylamide and bis-acrylamide.

Reconstitution

Reconstitute by slowly adding the indicated amount of distilled water to the container and dissolve contents.
To make up 100 ml of A2792, slowly add 63 ml distilled or deionized water to the container and dissolve contents. Do not divide the solid. This makes 100 ml of a 40% stock solution.
For the 1 Liter size, use 630 mL of water.
