General description

Aldicarb sulfoxide, cholinesterase inhibitor in insects, is formed from Temik during initial oxidation. It is persistent in soil and is rapidly translocated in plants.

Application

Aldicarb-sulfoxide may be used as a pesticide reference standard for the determination of the analyte in:
  • Fruits and vegetable using solid-phase extraction followed by liquid chromatography-atmospheric pressure chemical ionization mass spectrometry.
  • Water samples by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS) using short capillary columns.
  • Foodstuffs by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) using a triple quadrupole analyzer.
