General description

Zinc (Zn2+), is a trace nutrient critical for physiological function. Although most biological zinc ions are tightly associated with proteins, pools of loosely bound or mobile forms serve regulatory or signaling functions, including nucleation of protein self-assembly, triggering of signaling pathways, and modification of cellular metabolism.

The BioTracker 515 Green Zn2+ Dye is a fluorescent imaging probe for the detection of Zn2+ in living cells. The BioTracker 515 Green Zn2+ Dye has high solubility, so that it is not permeable through the cell membrane. BioTracker 515 Green Zn2+ Dye DA has an additional acetyl group which make the reagent go inside the cell much easier, and the acetyl group is removed by the intracellular esterase which make the reagent stay inside the cell for extended periods of time.

Concentration of the provided sample is 5 mmol/L in DMSO. Dilute 1000 times with neutral buffer before use.
