Gene Information

human ... GRIN2C(2905)

Specificity

NMDAR2C. Immunolabels the 140 kD NMDAR2C subunit of the NMDA receptor. Also reacts with NMDAR2A and NMDAR2B by Western blot (180 kD).

Immunogen

Epitope: N-terminus
N-Terminal Fusion Protein of the NMDAR2C

Application

Detect NMDAR2C using this Anti-NMDAR2C Antibody, also recognizes NMDAR2A & 2B validated for use in IP & WB.

Research Sub Category
Neurotransmitters & Receptors
Western blotting 1:100-1:200

Immunoprecipitation: 3 μL will (under the appropriate conditions) quantitatively immunoprecipitate all NMDAR2C in 200 μg of rat cerebellum.

Not recommended for use in immunohistochemistry since the antibody also reacts with NMDAR2A and NMDAR2B.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.

Physical form

Affinity purified immunoglobulin. Lyophilized from ammonium bicarbonate (5 mM), some residual salt may be present. Reconstitute with 50 μL of PBS.

Storage and Stability

Maintain lyophilized antibody at -20°C for up to 12 months after date of receipt. After reconstitution maintain at -20°C in undiluted aliquots for up to six months.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Phencyclidine (PCP) is a noncompetitive antagonist of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) glutamate receptor subtype. It produces transient psychoses in normal individuals and exacerbates psychoses in schizophrenics. When administered to rodents, PCP elicits stereotypic behaviors including unrelenting head swaying, hyperlocomotion, and social

Immunocytochemical localization of metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs) and ionotropic glutamate receptors (NMDA-type: NMDAR1 and NMDAR2A-C; AMPA-type: GluR1-4) was performed on sections of rat dorsal horn. Immunoreactivity for mGluR1 alpha was detected in laminae I-III of the dorsal horn, whilst mGluR2/3
