General description

The C-terminal binding portion of the chain of tetanus toxin. The intact toxin is known to block neurotransmitter release at inhibitory synapses in cultured spinal cord cells. Shows trans-synaptic retrograde transport in the central nervous system. Caution: may contain trace amounts of intact toxin. Follow the handling procedure described in the information that accompanies the product.

Physical form

Lyophilized from 10 mM sodium phosphate buffer, pH 7.5.

Reconstitution

Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C) for long-term storage or refrigerate (4°C) for short-term storage. Once an aliquot has been thawed, do not refreeze. Aqueous stock solutions are stable for 7-10 days at 4°C.
