General description

Water standard 1% is prepared using high-purity water and reagents by the gravimetric method. Its characterization is carried out at an accredited quality control (QC) laboratory according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. The water content of the standard is measured by direct coulometric Karl Fischer titration, in accordance with ISO 760.

Please visit ISO certificates and Site Quality Self-Assessments to access the current certificates of accreditation.

Application

Water standard 1% can be used for:
  • Evaluating the accuracy of coulometric Karl Fischer titrators according to ISO 9001 chapter 7.1.5 “Monitoring and measuring resources” as a Certified reference material (CRM)
  • Checking the accuracy of measured results according to European Pharmacopeia (Ph.Eur.) chapter 2.5.32 “Water Micro Determination”
  • Standardizing titrants according to European Pharmacopeia (Ph.Eur.) chapter 2.5.12 “Water Semi-Micro Determination” and the United States Pharmacopeia <921> “Water Determination”
  • Titer determinations using volumetric method with one component and two component reagents

Features and Benefits

  • Packed in convenient 8 mL glass ampoules and 10 single-use ampoules in a box
  • Supplied with a batch-specific certificate of analysis (CoA) having data on the exact measured water content of the batch, uncertainty, method of analysis, the NIST batch, and minimum shelf life
  • Measured and qualified in an ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034 accredited calibration laboratory
  • Directly traceable to SI unit (kg) and verified by SRM 2890 from NIST
