Gene Information

human ... NOS3(4846)

General description

Nitric oxide synthase 3 (NOS3), also known as endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS), is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 7q35-36. The gene consists of 26 exons.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human eNOS around the phosphorylation site of Ser1176.

Immunogen Range: 1144-1193

Biochem/physiol Actions

Nitric oxide synthase 3 (NOS3) has been studied as a modulator of vascular function and is involved in the production of nitric oxide. Defects in the enzyme expression have been shown to be associated with coronary artery disease.
