General description
Glucose, which is naturally present in fruits and other plant parts, serves as a primary energy source. Abnormal levels of glucose are associated with metabolic dysfunctions like hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, and diabetes mellitus. Measuring glucose levels in tissues and body fluids such as blood and urine is commonly done to diagnose glucose-related disorders. Glucose levels are monitored to assess the effectiveness of therapeutics like insulin and sulphonylureas in treating type 2 diabetes. In the food industry, glucose is used both as a natural component and as an additive. It is added to food and beverages not only for its impact on taste, texture, and color but also as a preservative.
Application
The Glucose Quick Test Strips are designed for determining glucose levels in the following applications:
- Food and Beverage Testing
- Biological samples such as urine and serum
Features and Benefits
- Rapid and Versatile: Provides rapid results, offering the choice of using either 20 or 100 μL of sample for semi-quantitative measurement spanning from 0 to 720 mg/L (undiluted) glucose, accommodating diverse testing needs efficiently.
- Time-Saving: Enables sample treatment and assay completion in under 15 minutes, ensuring efficient testing without compromising accuracy, saving valuable time for users.
- User-Friendly Design: Simplifies testing with a convenient test strip design, eliminating the need for a plate or cuvette reader, enhancing accessibility and usability for individuals of all skill levels.
Suitability
This kit is suitable for the detection of glucose in a variety of food and beverage samples.
Principle
The Glucose Quick Test Strips are based on glucose dehydrogenase catalyzed oxidation of glucose in which the formed NADH reduces a chromogenic reagent. The intensity of the product color is directly proportional to the glucose concentration in the sample.
