General description

Phenol saturated with TE buffer for DNA isolation. Comes at pH 6.7 for stability with included TE buffer to raise pH to 8.0 for DNA extraction.
pH 8.0±0.2: Gently mix contents of phenol: chloroform and buffer bottles. Allow layers to separate before use (2-4 h). pH 6.7±0.2: Use saturated phenol: chloroform as is without addition of buffer bottle. Solution is stable >1 year at 4°C.Phenol saturated with TE buffer for DNA isolation. Comes at pH 6.7 for stability with included TE buffer to raise pH to 8.0 for DNA extraction. Suitable for DNA applications. Molecular biology grade.

Application

  • Complete mitochondrial genome of critically endangered catfish Hemibagrus punctatus (Jerdon, 1849) and comparative analysis for insights into the phylogeny of hemibagrids through mitogenomic approach.: This study presents the complete mitochondrial genome of the critically endangered catfish Hemibagrus punctatus and offers comparative analyses for phylogenetic insights. Phenol:Chloroform:Isoamyl Alcohol was used in the extraction of high-quality DNA for genomic studies, facilitating the understanding of genetic diversity and conservation efforts (Chowdhury et al., 2024).

  • The changes in tissue histomorphology and quality of DNA in healthy human autopsied tissues stored at -20 °C and -150 °C.: This research examines histomorphological changes and DNA quality in human tissues stored at different temperatures. Phenol:Chloroform:Isoamyl Alcohol was employed for DNA extraction, critical for maintaining the integrity of genetic material in forensic and clinical applications (Radojevic et al., 2024).

  • The use of vitreous humour as a potential source of DNA for postmortem identification in forensic science.: This study explores the potential of vitreous humour as a DNA source for postmortem identification, utilizing Phenol:Chloroform:Isoamyl Alcohol for effective DNA extraction, enhancing forensic analysis accuracy (Čanović et al., 2024).

  • A new DNA extraction method (HV-CTAB-PCI) for amplification of nuclear markers from open ocean-retrieved faeces of an herbivorous marine mammal, the dugong.: This paper introduces an advanced DNA extraction method for nuclear markers from marine mammal feces. Phenol:Chloroform:Isoamyl Alcohol played a crucial role in optimizing DNA purity and yield, pivotal for genetic studies in marine biology (Ooi et al., 2023).

  • A comparison of five DNA extraction methods from degraded human skeletal remains.: This forensic study compares various DNA extraction methods for degraded skeletal remains. Phenol:Chloroform:Isoamyl Alcohol was highlighted for its effectiveness in recovering usable DNA, proving essential in forensic anthropology (Haarkötter et al., 2023).
