General description
Method: Colorimetric, with test strips, 4 - 8 - 12 - 16 - 24°d, MQuant®
The MQuant® Carbonate hardness test strips are suitable for a rapid determination of carbonate hardness. Carbonate hardness (“temporary hardness”, alkalinity) is that proportion of hardness ions for which there is an equivalent amount of anions of carbonic acid (hydrogen carbonate and carbonate). As an alternative to testing for carbonate hardness with a test strip, one can also use a titration method. By using MQuant® titration tests (e.g. 111103) lower concentrations can be measured with finer graduation.
