Descripción general

The gene MRPS30 (28S ribosomal protein S30, mitochondrial) is mapped to human chromosome 5q11. MRPS30 transcript is ubiquitously expressed with stronger expression in heart, skeletal muscle, kidney, and liver.

Aplicación

Acciones bioquímicas o fisiológicas

Mitochondrial ribosomes are composed of small (28S) and large (39S) subunits. MRPS30 was initially showed to be component of 28S subunit, however, recent studies showed MRPS30 presence in 39S subunit. Single nucleotide polymorphism is MRPS30 is associated with breast cancer risk.
