Acciones bioquímicas o fisiológicas

25-hydroxycholesterol 7-α-hydroxylase (CYP7B1) takes part in the pathway for cholesterol degradation and also offers the metabolic route for the modification of neurosteroids in the brain. Mutations in the gene encoding CYP7B1 are linked to spastic paraplegia.
