Descripción general

Human growth hormone (HGH), also called somatotropin, is a peptide hormone that consists of a long single chain of amino acids. It is naturally secreted by somatotropic cells in the anterior pituitary gland of the human body.

Aplicación

Human Growth Hormone human has been used as a supplement in culture media to study its effect on the immune response in fish cell lines. It has also been used as a supplement in biliary differentiation medium (BDM) for differentiation of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs)/ human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs)-derived hepatoblasts.

Acciones bioquímicas o fisiológicas

Human growth hormone (HGH) is required for normal human growth and development. HGH modifies a variety of physiological functions by stimulating the expression of insulin-like growth factor I and increases calcium retention and bone density. HGH increases muscle mass, promotes lipolysis, and reduces liver uptake of glucose. Abnormalities in the regulation of HGH lead to various growth disorders such as gigantism or acromegaly due to hypersecretion of HGH. Conversely, HGH deficiency leads to growth deficit in children and GH deficiency syndrome in adults.

Forma física

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of 1x PBS.

Nota de preparación

HumanKine, Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is expressed as a non-glycosylated monomer in human HEK 293 cells and has an apparent molecular mass of 22 kDa.

Nota de análisis

The activity was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of rat lymphoma line Nb2-11 cells (prolactin indicator cell line).

Cholangiocytes are biliary epithelial cells, which, like hepatocytes, originate from hepatoblasts during embryonic development. In this study we investigated the potential of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) to differentiate into cholangiocytes and we report a new approach, which drives differentiation
