Información sobre el gen

mouse ... Rfx6(320995)

Descripción general

Rfx6 (regulatory factor X 6) is a winged-helix transcription factor that is essential for development and seems to be located exclusively in the pancreatic islets. It has been associated with endoderm development, specifically, and the differentiation of islet cells. Since insulin production happens in the beta-cells of pancreatic islets, Rfx6 may be used clinically to treat diabetes. Recently, Rfx6 function has been found to change over time and gets restricted to endocrine cells at later stages. Mitchell-Riley syndrome is thought to stem from a Rfx6 mutation.

Inmunógeno

GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to mouse Rfx6.

Aplicación

Anti-Rfx6 Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody for detection of Rfx6 also known as DNA-binding protein RFX6, Regulatory factor X 6 & has been validated in IHC.

RFX6 transcription factor is believed to play a central role in directing cell development of insulin-producing pancreatic islet. RFX6 homozygous mutations cause syndromic neonatal diabetes with hypoplastic pancreas. However, RFX6 heterozygous mutations cause maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) with
Transcriptional regulatory factor X6 (Rfx6) increases gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP) expression in enteroendocrine K-cells and is involved in GIP hypersecretion in high fat diet-induced obesity.
