Información sobre el gen

Especificidad

Stargazin [Stargazin-like TARP (transmembrane AMPA receptor regulatory protein)]. By Western blot the antibody recognizes bands at ~35 kDa and ~55 kDa on Triton soluble fraction of rat brain. The antibody reacts dominantly with TARP gamma-8 and weakly with gamma-3 and gamma-4. Stargazin is expressed strongly in the hippocampus and cerebellum.

Inmunógeno

GST fusion protein from rat stargazin, cytoplasmic domain.

This Anti-Stargazin Antibody is validated for use in IP, WB, IC, IH for the detection of Stargazin.
Western blot: 0.1 μg/mL on Triton soluble fraction of rat brain. Suggested dilution buffer is TBS-T and blocking buffer is 3% skim milk. Suggested incubation time is 3 hours to overnight at room temperature.
Immunohistochemistry: 0.25-0.5 μg/mL on 4% paraformaldehyde fixed tissue. Suggested dilution buffer is PBS-T. Suggested permeabilization method is 0.1% Triton X-100. Suggested incubation time is 2 hours to overnight at room temperature.
Immunocytochemistry
Immunoprecipitation: 1-2 μg. Suggested reaction volume is 200-1000 μL. Suggested total protein concentration is 2 mg/mL. Suggested incubation time is 2 hours at 2-8°C. Suggested capture agent is Protein A.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

Functional expression of alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid (AMPA) receptors in cerebellar granule cells requires stargazin, a member of a large family of four-pass transmembrane proteins. Here, we define a family of transmembrane AMPA receptor regulatory proteins (TARPs), which comprise stargazin, gamma-3, gamma-4

Activity-dependent plasticity in the brain arises in part from changes in the number of synaptic AMPA receptors. Synaptic trafficking of AMPA receptors is controlled by stargazin and homologous transmembrane AMPA receptor regulatory proteins (TARPs). We found that TARPs were stable

Synaptic plasticity involves protein phosphorylation cascades that alter the density of AMPA-type glutamate receptors at excitatory synapses; however, the crucial phosphorylated substrates remain uncertain. Here, we show that the AMPA receptor-associated protein stargazin is quantitatively phosphorylated and that stargazin phosphorylation

The anterior thalamus (AT) is critical for memory formation, processing navigational information, and seizure initiation. However, the molecular mechanisms that regulate synaptic function of AT neurons remain largely unexplored. We report that AMPA receptor auxiliary subunit GSG1L controls short-term plasticity
