General description

Green fluorescent protein (GFP) is a fluorescent protein. It is mainly isolated from the luminous organ of the jellyfish Aequorea victoria.

Immunogen

Full length GFP recombinant protein

Application

Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: ELISA: 1:1000-1:10000, ICC/IF: 1:100-1:2000, IHC-Fr: Assay-dependent dilution, IHC-P: Assay-dependent dilution, IP: 1:100-1:500, WB: 1:1000-1:10000, IHC-Wm: Assay-dependent dilution. Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the end user.
Monoclonal Anti-GFP antibody has been used in gait analysis.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Green fluorescent protein (GFP) is used as a marker for gene expression. It is also used as a tag to study about protein localization in several organisms. GFP can form the intrinsic chromophore without the help of cofactors or enzymatic components.
