General description

Highly purified genomic DNA isolated from adult BALB/c mice.

Application

Deoxyribonucleic acid, High molecular weight from BALB/c mouse, adult, is used as a target for amplification by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), restriction endonuclease digestion and as a carrier DNA for precipitations. It may also be used in library construction in bacteriophage lambda vectors and in Southern hybridization. It was used as a standard for DNA quantification by spectrophotometry and as a positive control in TaqMan PCR reactions.
Applications include use as a target for amplification by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), restriction endonuclease digestion and as a carrier DNA for precipitations. May also be used in library construction in bacteriophage lambda vectors and in Southern hybridization.

Components

The DNA is in a solution of 10mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5) with 0.1mM EDTA.

Other Notes

Highly purified genomic DNA.

Xenotropic murine leukaemia viruses (MLV-X) are endogenous gammaretroviruses that infect cells from many species, including humans. Xenotropic murine leukaemia virus-related virus (XMRV) is a retrovirus that has been the subject of intense debate since its detection in samples from humans

We have taken advantage of the Cre/lox system to generate a mouse model with inducible deficiency of transforming growth factor beta receptor II (TbetaRII). Using this approach, transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) signaling deficiency can be restricted to the hematopoietic

Several studies have implicated a recently discovered gammaretrovirus, XMRV (Xenotropic murine leukaemia virus-related virus), in chronic fatigue syndrome and prostate cancer, though whether as causative agent or opportunistic infection is unclear. It has also been suggested that the virus can
