General description

Cesium carbonate (Cs2CO3) is widely used in electronic and optoelectronic industries because of its excellent electron injection capability and outstanding optical properties. It also possesses high solubility in polar solvents, therefore it can be used as a surface modification material in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and solar cells.

Application

Cesium carbonate can be used as an additive in 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (BPhen) based organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) to enhance the electrical characteristics and luminance efficiency of OLEDs by decreasing the activation energy of the organic layer as a result of increased electron injection and transport. In perovskite solar cells (PCSs) and other optoelectronic devices, Cs2CO3 is used as an effective modifier to improve their photoelectric conversion efficiency by reducing the barrier between interfaces and defects in electron transport layers which makes electron transfer easier.
Promotes the efficient O-alkylation of alcohols to form mixed alkyl carbonates.
