General description

We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product has been enhanced for energy efficiency. Find details here.

Application

TiH2 was used as intermetallic precursor for the preparation of Ti3AlC2 by self-propagating high temperature synthesis (SHS).1 TiH2 may be added to MgH2 to decrease the enthalpy and entropy of the absorption and desorption of hydrogen.
Titanium(II) hydride (TiH2) is a non-stoichiometric compound that can be used in the enhancement of fracture by localized plastic deformation and brittle fracture for titanium and titanium alloy. It can be used in the hydrogen evolution and hydrogen storage. It can also be used in the foaming of aluminum due to its decomposition temperature closer to aluminum′s melting point.
