General description

IgG antibodies are the smallest antibody isotype found in blood and extracellular fluid, capable of fighting bacterial and viral infection.
Immunoglobulin G (IgG) belongs to the immunoglobulin family and is a widely expressed serum antibody. An immunoglobulin has two heavy chains and two light chains connected by a disulfide bond. It mainly helps in immune defense. It is a glycoprotein. IgG is a major class of immunoglobulin. Mouse consists of five immunoglobulin classes- IgM, IgG, IgA, IgD and IgE. Mouse IgG is further divided into five classes- IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b and IgG3.

Immunogen

Purified mouse IgG.

Application

Anti-Mouse IgG (whole molecule) Alkaline Phosphatase antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunocytochemical localization of Aβ peptides and western blot analysis.
Anti-mouse IgG (whole molecule)-alkaline phosphatase antibody can be used in immunocytochemistry.
Western blot analysis of lysates from the placental cell line 3ASubE-P-3 and U037 cells were performed using alkaline phosphatase conjugated rabbit anti- mouse IgG as the secondary at 1:2000 to recognize the mouse mom Il-8RB. Secondary was developed using bromochloroindoyl phosphate (Sigma) pH. 9.5 for 10-15 minutes.Western blot analysis of coimmunoprecipitates from human cell or rat cell vaginal extracts were performed using alkaline phosphatase conjugated rabbit anti- mouse IgG as the secondary at 1:15000 dilution.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Immunoglobulin G (IgG) participates in hypersensitivity type II and type III reactions. IgG helps in opsonization, complement fixation and antibody dependent cell mediated cytotoxicity.

Physical form

Solution in 0.05 M Tris buffer, pH 8.0, containing 1 mM MgCl2, 10 mM glycine, 1% bovine serum albumin, 50% glycerol and 15 mM sodium azide.
