Gene Information

human ... SLC9A1(6548)

Specificity

Recognizes Na+/H+ Exchanger 1 (NHE1). The immunogen peptide shows no significant homology with other NHE isoforms (NHE2-5).

Immunogen

A 22 aa peptide within the cytoplasmic, C-terminal domain of rat NHE1, coupled to KLH.

Application

Detect Na+/H+ Exchanger-1 using this Anti-Na+/H+ Exchanger-1 Antibody validated for use in ELISA & WB.
Western blot: 1-10 μg/mL using Chemiluminescence technique.

ELISA: 1:100,000 using 50-100 ng control peptide per well.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

The myocardial Na(+)/H(+) exchanger-1 (NHE1) plays a major role in regulation of intracellular pH, and its upregulation has been implicated in increased ischemia-reperfusion injury and other pathologies. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) increases NHE1 activity acutely via ERK1/2 signaling. Chronic strenuous exercise

Biochemical and pharmacological data support the existence of multiple forms of the Na/H exchanger (NHE). Two isoforms, termed NHE-1 and NHE-2, have recently been isolated from rabbit ileal villus epithelial cells (Tse, C. M., Ma, A. I., Yang, V. W.

Na+/H+ exchangers are integral plasma membrane proteins that exchange extracellular Na+ for intracellular H+ with a stoichiometry of one for one. They are inhibitable by the diuretic amiloride and have multiple cellular functions, including intracellular pH homeostasis, cell volume control
