General description

GranuCult® prime Tryptose Broth is a nutrient rich broth medium designed for the cultivation of fastidious microorganisms from food and animal feed, water and other samples. This culture medium contains tryptose which is a mixture of tryptic digested proteins. It provides nitrogen, vitamins and amino acids. Glucose acts as a carbon source whilst sodium chloride maintains the osmotic balance.

Upon completion of incubation, the inoculum can be streaked onto specific agar plates for isolation and detection.

Application

GranuCult® prime Tryptose Broth is used to enrich and cultivate pathogenic microorganisms like streptococci, pneumococci etc. in test samples.
According to FDA-BAM Chapter No. 10 Listeria, Tryptose broth is used for subculturing before serological subtyping of Listeria monocytogenes.

Footnote

We offer two media types: the superior granulated GranuCult® and the cost-efficient powdered NutriSelect® culture media, depending on your needs.
The designations basic, plus, or prime are added to indicate the quality control level, from basic quality control to standard QC plus to prime for full regulatory compliance.
