General description

The Mouse IL-10 (Interleukin-10) ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of IL-10 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.

Immunogen

Recombinant Mouse IL-10

Application

For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)

Biochem/physiol Actions

IL-10 (interleukin 10) is an anti-inflammatory cytokine. In mouse, IL-10 produced by the CD4+ Th2 (T helper cell 2) subset, inhibits the expression of cytokines specifically IFN-3 (interferon), by Thl (T helper cell 1) clones. mIL-10 has pleiotropic property and it interacts with various cell types such as thymocytes, cytotoxic T cells, mast cells, B cells, and macrophages. Polymorphisms in the IL-10 gene are associated with higher risk of preeclampsia, ankylosing spondylitis, nasopharyngeal carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma. B- cell specific IL-10 might have a suppressive role in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
